We Are Published Authors and Illustrators!

My kindergarten students have just completed publishing their stories that they wrote in Writer's Workshop about a personal experience. We used iPads and the Story Kit app to publish the stories. Even though a published story is typically edited and corrected for all mistakes, I have chosen to validate my students' hard work by only editing and correcting the specific skills that each student has been practicing. My students will still be able to read their writing and many of you will be able to read it too because they have made tremendous progress on their writing skills. Enjoy these amazing kindergarten authors and illustrators! We welcome comments from anyone that is visiting our blog. Here are the stories: Published Stories from Writer's Workshop

Where in the world was Ms. Isom?

Another clue: At the same place where I saw that plane, I saw this animal.
Last weekend, I took a trip. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a plane that could be called "Air Force One"! I had learned so much about the President's plane from our kindergarten friends that researched Air Force One. After seeing this plane, I learned some new facts. Do you know where I was? Make a prediction.

Writing Challenge #1

Choose one or both challenges to write. One challenge is to write a sentence using at least 3 word wall words and 1 word that has 2 syllables. The other challenge is to write a sentence with most of the words beginning with the same letter and using one word that has at least 4 syllables. For both challenges, the sentence can be silly and can have as many words as you like. Write away, Authors!
